• Essential Tools: Road marking machine (airless sprayer or hand-push sprayer, Zhongren’s compatible airless sprayers are available), tape lines, cleaning tools (broom, high-pressure washer), measuring tools (tape measure, chalk line), and safety equipment (reflective cones, warning signs, protective gloves).
• Site Requirements: Construct when the ambient temperature is 5℃–35℃ and humidity <85% (avoid rain, dew, or freezing conditions). Ensure the road surface is free of traffic during construction; set up safety barriers to isolate the work area.

Step 2: Surface Preparation – Clean & Dry for Strong Adhesion

• Clean Thoroughly: Remove dust, oil stains, gravel, and old marking residues using a broom or high-pressure washer. For stubborn oil stains, use a professional degreaser and rinse with clean water.
• Ensure Dryness: Allow the surface to dry completely (no visible moisture) – moisture will cause the paint to bubble, peel, or lose adhesion.
• Smooth & Flat: Repair potholes, cracks, or uneven areas with asphalt or concrete repair materials. Grind rough surfaces slightly to create a uniform base.

Step 3: Mark Layout – Precise Positioning for Standard Lines

• Measure & Snap Lines: Use a tape measure to mark the line width (common 10cm–15cm for traffic lanes, 20cm for stop lines) and spacing. Snap chalk lines to outline the marking path, ensuring straightness or smooth curves.
• Tape Edging (Optional): For crisp edges, stick masking tape along the chalk lines. Remove the tape immediately after painting (before the paint dries) to avoid peeling.

Step 4: Paint Mixing – Homogeneous Blend for Consistent Performance

• Ratio Control: Pour Zhongren’s cold road paint into a clean container, add the recommended amount of thinner (adjusts viscosity for sprayability) and hardener (enhances curing speed and wear resistance).
• Thorough Stirring: Mix with a mechanical stirrer for 3–5 minutes until the mixture is homogeneous, free of lumps or sediment. Avoid over-thinning (may reduce film thickness and durability) or under-thinning (causes uneven spraying).
• Test Spray: Before formal construction, spray a small area to check the paint’s flowability and color. Adjust the thinner ratio if needed.

Step 5: Application – Even Spraying for Smooth Lines

• Machine Spraying (Recommended for Large Areas): Use an airless sprayer (Zhongren’s airless paint sprayers are optimized for cold paint, ensuring uniform pressure). Hold the spray gun 15–20cm above the surface, move at a steady speed (4–6km/h) to maintain consistent line thickness (0.2–0.3mm dry film).
• Hand-Push Spraying (For Small Areas/Curves): Use a hand-push marking machine for parking lots, community roads, or curved lines. Keep the machine aligned with the chalk line to avoid deviation.
• Reflective Glass Beads (Optional): Sprinkle reflective glass beads immediately after painting (coverage: 0.3–0.5kg/m²) to enhance night visibility. Zhongren’s cold paint is compatible with standard glass beads for traffic safety upgrades.

Step 6: Curing & Maintenance – Ensure Longevity

• Drying Time: Zhongren’s cold road paint dries to touch in 15–30 minutes and cures completely in 2–4 hours (varies with temperature and humidity).
• Traffic Control: Keep the area closed to vehicles and pedestrians during curing. Do not allow traffic until the paint is fully dry (no stickiness).
